Ingle and Rhode Reviews The Inspiration Behind Some
Bespoke Jewellery Designs
We create every Ingle & Rhode engagement ring to order, to each client’s specific requirements. Every piece of jewellery has a story to tell, from choosing and sourcing the gems and precious metals, through to the inspiration behind the design and the crafting of the finished piece, to the proposal itself. We thought it would be interesting to start to review some of these stories with you here.
Vintage Style Ruby Ring
Fortunately, at Ingle & Rhode we were able to source a beautiful 2ct unheated oval ruby, whose colour we thought was perfect. Just to be sure, Stuart booked himself on a flight to London, and visited us to review the ruby in person. Luckily it was exactly as he had imagined, and we had just enough time to finish the ring before he flew to South America to propose. Megan loved the ring, and really appreciated the special effort that Stuart had gone to.
Unique Star Sapphire Ring
At Ingle & Rhode, we also made a very special engagement ring for Joe Cripps and his fiancé Louise. Joe inherited the central star sapphire and the surrounding diamonds from his great grandfather, Sir Stafford Cripps, and decided to use them to create a the perfect engagement ring for Louise.
Sir Stafford was Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1947 to 1950, during Clement Atlee's government. It was while he was working in India in the late 1940s that he was presented with the tiepin which decades later would be transformed into Louise's engagement ring. We are sure he would be pleased with the result.
Animal Themed Wedding RingsA couple of our clients have taken inspiration from the animal kingdom while creating their wedding bands. In the remote Highlands of Scotland, Andrew spent days photographing his pet cat, Whisky, while it played in his garden.
In Pennsylvania, Eran and his fiancée love reading the story of Pilipimm the Elephant to their son. They are particularly fond of the way that the mummy and daddy elephant hold their baby in their trunks, and how the whole elephant family hold each other’s tails. They were delighted with their ‘elephant’ ring, which reflected the charm of the original story.
If you have a story to tell about the inspiration behind your own bespoke jewellery design, we'd love to hear it here.
